As a first generation American I’ve learned that life is full of opportunities, even where we often least expect it. Sometimes what feels like a setback is preparing you for something great to come. After all big things have humble beginnings. Denzel Washington once said ‘“dreams without goals are just dreams, and ultimately, they fuel disappointment. On the road to achieving  our dreams you must apply discipline, but more importantly consistency. Because without commitment you’ll never start, but without consistency you’ll never finish.” I’ve had multitude careers in a various of industries from retail, food, real estate, construction, insurance to finance. The biggest piece of advice I would offer anyone, is never discount your life experiences, I did not realize the value of college until I had life and work experience to show me why finishing my bachelor’s degree was of value to me and little did, I know that employers respected my decision to take time away from school to gain that perspective. The key though was always having a goal, plan out how to wish to achieve that goal, implement that plan, and actively assess that plan for achieving your goal.
