Imagine having a dedicated guide by your side as you navigate life's twists and turns, prepare for graduation, and begin your job hunt. That's what a mentor is all about! They’re there to listen, share their wisdom, and make your journey enjoyable. Whether you need advice, encouragement, or just someone to have fun with, a mentor is your supporter every step of the way.

Have you ever felt alone or like you have nobody to talk to? Are you overwhelmed by tests, homework, and life’s demands? Mentorship is your answer! Mentors will be your trusted guide who supports you, offers valuable advice, and helps you discover your passions!
-
An exciting part of mentorship is that it’s very flexible. It will look like whatever is most helpful to you. For some, that might look like talking about your daily struggles and stresses including homework, interviews, and other goals you might have for the future. For others it might look like tackling deeper and more complex issues about life.
-
Mentorship will involve a lot of goal-setting, communication, and discovering what you’re most passionate about. All working towards graduating, getting a job, and developing leadership skills.
-
Before you meet with your mentor, consider your goals, your hobbies, and what’s currently giving you trouble in life.
Be curious and ask your mentor about their life, their career, and their interests.
You can talk with your mentor about things you want to learn and ask them about what they want to learn.
Make sure to arrive a on time or a few minutes early to any of your scheduled meetings.
In order to have a good relationship with your mentor, it is important to check in with yourself to make sure you feel seen, and safe by your mentor. If you do not feel this way, you should stop the mentoring relationship. If you ever want help in stopping your mentor relationship, please reach out to a trusted adult who can help. If you feel unsafe or don’t know a trusted adult who can help, contact the Teen Line at 800-852-8336 or text TEEN to 839863.
